The space was a little cramped at Southside and three large columns made it hard to see at times but all that melted away when the show started. I love that girly skirt on the outfit to the left - it was a good first piece. After that, we can see her signature classic style that was discernible on Project Runway.
Check out the blue jacket on the end. The construction on the front is simple without being understated. And I keep hearing about blue being the it color for this year...
And then she pumped out the volume, giving us pieces like the first skirt below that reminded me of a cupcake as it came out. It was a nice break from the classic, sleek yet detailed pieces - something fluffy and girly. The third one from the left in red was also eye-catching... reminds me of a rose petal and I think it would compliment various body types.
You can tell Shirin's strength lies in mixing imagination and construction. She never loses that smooth, classic feel, even when her detail-mix ranges from small, you-almost-miss-it to bold and in-your-face. Imagine wearing this dress for holiday.
At the closing of the show, she said, "This is only the beginning." We shall see.
